Our cupboards are used to store a range of organic and chemical compounds that can quickly develop into an unwelcome odor. When spills and decomposition occurs, the resulting cupboard stench can create an incredibly difficult odor to overcome.
Though it may seem impossible to return freshness to your cupboards, this task can be accomplished through the application of a number of household solutions. By using the solutions outlined below, your cupboards be stink-free and smelling fresh in no time!
Smell Removal Solutions for Cupboards
1 White Vinegar Bowls
Use of this household acid within steaming bowls can have a powerful effect on minor odors from within cupboards. Mix a solution of one part white vinegar with four parts white vinegar pour within a kitchen bowl. Next, move the bowl within the cupboard and proceed to shut the door to enclose it. Allow the bowl’s steam to naturally cover the interior walls of the cupboard. After 2-3 hours have passed, the bowl can be removed and the doors can be opened to allow the vinegar moisture to naturally evaporate from the freshened cupboard.
2 White Vinegar Wipe
As an alternative application of vinegar, you can wipe the cupboard’s interior for especial difficult odors. Using an old hand towel, wipe down the cupboard’s interior and focus the majority of your attention on the location at the source of the stench. Finish by leaving the door open and allowing the moisture to naturally evaporate away.
3 Baking Soda Scrub
This powder absorbent can similarly work well in pulling in difficult odors found within your cupboards. Mix a solution of one part baking soda with five parts water and proceed to scrub down the affected areas within the cupboard. Finish by leaving the cupboard open to air dry.
4 Lemon Juice Spritz
The use of lemon juice has a similar effect as white vinegar though it’s use of a natural acid. Mix a solution of one part lemon juice with six parts water within a generic spray bottle. Proceed to spray the entire cupboard, making certain to close the doors once all interior surface areas have been lightly misted. After an hour has passed, return the wipe down the moisture from the fresh smelling cupboard.
5 Enzyme Spray & Wipe
For especially difficult cupboard odors, the use of enzyme deodorizing spray can be used to eat through the foul smelling residues. To apply, simply spray down all surface areas within the cupboard, making sure that the smelly spots receive a double dose of deodorizing spray. Allow the doors to remain open and begin using the cupboard as soon as all of the enzyme spray has dried away.
6 Activated Charcoal
To help assure freshness within the cupboard’s space, the use of activated charcoal briquette can be used. For best results, place a few briquettes within the back corners of each shelf. As light odors develop, the activated charcoal will work to absorb the stink before it gets out of hand.
